Learning and Development Framework

QFKC and Child Safety have been working on a Carer Learning and Development Framework and we would love the opportunity to bring the proposed framework to carers, agency and departmental staff for feedback.

The Framework recognises that learning and development is about an educational pathway with all carers having different skill sets and knowledge. It recognises the care team approach with a focus on the importance of identifying knowledge and skill sets of all care team members, not just carers as it is the combination of skills and knowledge that will contribute to successful outcomes for children and young people. Lastly it recognises the importance of a proportionate and tailored response to individual carer families where there is ongoing consideration of a carer family's skill sets and the need to ensure this is considered in circumstances where there may be worries raised in relation to care of children.
